What To Expect

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. We want to put you at ease! Your first visit to Heyworth First Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"!
Our worship service is at 10:30 on Sunday mornings and filled with inspiring music, Scripture readings, and alike. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Chris Baker. The service is a little over one hour in length.
Come early and enjoy some coffee and pastries with one of our Sunday School classes. These classes meet at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings and are a great place for you to meet people and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life. A great way to get to know people at Heyworth FBC is to visit one of these Sunday School classes.
Here are a few answers to your questions.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Heyworth FBC for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in traditional “Sunday” dress; however, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here and not feel under any pressure to “dress the part”, as many of our members dress for comfort and a relaxed atmosphere.
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don't invite you to church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
Where should I take my children?
Your children are welcome to stay with you during the services but we also have volunteers that work with children in various classes;
Sunday School:
Nursery: Birth to Kindergarten
1st-6th class
7th-12th class
Main Service:
Nursery: Birth to Kindergarten
1st-6th: Junior Church
7th-12th: Regular main service
